Hailo now lets you pay for taxi journeys that start on the street
Hailo can now be used to pay for taxi journeys that start on the road-side or rank – and not just for those booked through the app itself.
The company’s new ‘Pay with Hailo’ feature allows users to connect with a driver’s account after they’re in the car, with payment going through the app as it would for a regular Hailo booking.
If both the driver and the user have an iPhone, the app can use iBeacons to automatically detect when they’re in a Hailo cab and prompt them to confirm the payment.
Hailo says drivers will not have to pay a commission to them for any bookings made through this service and while it does seem there will be an additional fee levied on users, there is no extra cost for using it for the time being.
