RIM unveil the Blackberry Torch

RIM's new Blackberry Torch
Blackberry-maker RIM has taken the wraps off its latest smartphone device, the Torch. The phone boasts a 3.2″ touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, making it more like the Palm Pre Plus than the likes of the iPhone.
The phone also runs on Blackberry 6 OS, the latest operating system for the brand, which was officially launched alongside the device itself.
Other than that the hardware is fairly standard – there is 4GB of internal memory with an SD slot expandable up to 32GB, a 5mp camera, media functionality, n-standard WiFi and what RIM promises to be a long-lasting battery.
The Torch is due to launch in the US on the 14th August on the AT&T network but there is currently no details for an Irish release.
