I do think Android is a great system in the right hands, though. HTC are far and away the best when it comes to the OS. So far, Samsung are the worst (though I’ve only had a go of a few Android handsets).

SE falls somewhere in the middle.

He has always been a Sony/Ericsson guy and I think perhaps the Android OS is too much for him. He actually started using his old W550 lately instead.
