The IRFU Match App is part of a trial run at making rugby content mobile.
A digital version of the match programme for this Saturday’s rugby test match between Ireland and South Africa will be available to purchase on the iPhone as part of a trial being run by the IRFU (Irish Rugby Football Union) and PUBLISH-i.
The application, which can be found by searching the App Store for ‘IRFU’ or ‘MatchApp’, costs €2.39 and will give purchasers a chance to read the programme in advance of the game.
The IRFU app is part of a trial by the rugby authority which is seeking to develop its mobile strategy in the coming months. The success or otherwise of the application will help determine what kind of apps are developed in future and go towards determining what kind of official Irish rugby content is available via mobile.
PUBLISH-i is a joint venture between Zamano and PixelSoup, set up in 2008 to provide digital publishing solutions to companies.
